All works to bridges and culverts on watercourses require the approval of the Office of Public Works (OPW) in accordance with Section 50 of the Arterial Drainage Act 1945. This process requires the development of drawings, hydraulic calculations and reports for submission to the Office Public Works for their approval. Typically, Local Authorities will require Section 50 approval to be obtained during the Planning Process if such works are being considered as part of development.
Kilgallen & Partners have significant experience obtaining Section 50 approvals and through this experience have acquired a firm understanding of OPW requirements.
